If there was one show that I would want to come back to TV it would be Boy Meets World.  I miss seeing Cory and Topanga and everyone else on the show.  I loved watching Boy Meets World when I was younger and I think it was the perfect 90s show.  It was innocent and funny and a great show to watch.  I think I would have a whole new look on the show if I watched it now since I am older and understand more about life and relationships.  Television needs more shows on air like Boy Meets World.  We are so inundated with reality TV and trash.  America needs some innocent silly humor to break up all the drama on The Bad Girls Club, Maury, Jerry Springer, etc…

Fun in the ‘Boro March 29, 2012

Some of my favorite things to do in Statesboro are to…wait…there is nothing I like to do in Statesboro! Something that I like a lot about going to school in Statesboro is the close proximity to the coast.  Coming from Northeast Georgia the only bodies of water I see are lakes, ponds, and creeks.  Having easy access to Savannah and Tybee Island make Statesboro attractive to me.  If I had to pick something that I enjoy doing in Statesboro it would be, and yes I know it sounds bad, eating out at restaurants.  At home my mom cooks every night.  She is an awesome cook but there is something exciting about saying “hmm..what do I want to eat tonight? Steak? A Sandwich?”  I sound like a fatty but I am at peace with that!  I also love spending time with my friends and my boyfriend.  Going to the movies and going to dinner with my friends and boyfriend keeps me sane between all of my schoolwork.  If someone that had never been to Statesboro came down for a visit I would take them to El Sombrero first.  I think that is probably the best thing in Statesboro! Then I would take them to Savannah because there is NOTHING to do here!

What Would I Change from Freshman Year? March 20, 2012

This is something that I really had to think about.  There isn’t really anything much that I would change about my freshman year but I think that if I could go back I would try to have more fun.  I was very focused on school and not really interested in having a raging social life like all my sisters and everyone else.  I think that I would definitely loosen up.  I wish that I had invested more time in developing closer friendships instead of acquaintances.

I also think that I would change my eating at Einsteins everyday.  Those bagels did a number on my waist size!  It was just so convenient to eat there because I lived upstairs! I think that I would have started working out more freshman year to so that I could have started that healthy habit earlier.

There really isn’t anything else that I can think of that I would change.

PR Books March 8, 2012

Wow.  I feel behind because I haven’t read any of these books!  Two of the books on this list have been on my “want to read” list for a while.  I have been wanting to read “The Hunger Games” and “Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea” but haven’t gotten to them yet.  I love Chelsea Handler and know that her book would be a really fun read.  I have been wanting to read “The Hunger Games” just because of all the hype and everyone I have talked to says that it is a great book and that the rest of the books in the series are awesome too.  I also want to read it so that I can be ready for the upcoming movie. I don’t have any books in mind that would be beneficial to a PR professional’s career but I can say that I just finished a really great saga by Anna Godbersen, The Luxe Series, that is a really great read.  I wrote about this series on an earlier blog and would recommend it to anyone, especially a girl, who asked.  The is nothing groundbreaking about the books they are just really captivating.  That would be my contribution to this!

My Dream Job February 28, 2012

My dream job actually has nothing to do with Public Relations.  My passion is history.  I was a history major when I first started college here at GSU.  My ultimate dream job would be to work at the National Archives Gallery in Washington, D.C.  I am so fascinated with history and everything that goes along with the history of our country.  Working at the National Archives Gallery would be so incredible to me.  The only hitch in the dream job is that it is almost unattainable.  I would have to get my Ph.D. (which isn’t the unattainable part) and have years and years of experience.  I would probably have to have discover some huge historical breakthrough to even be considered.  The job that I would want pretty much only opens up when the person in the job dies.  So…I guess if I am willing to get my Ph.D, uncover some groundbreaking historical artifact or piece of information, and be willing to whack the current person in the position I can switch my major back to history and get on that.  I think I will stick with PR.
